Sunderland's Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre boasts a brand new 25m swimming pool, which opened to the public in January 2010. The centre also features eight indoor and five outdoor tennis courts, a Wellness Centre (with Technogym equipment), exercise studio, meeting rooms and a newly refurbished lounge and café area.

The centre offers a wide range of tennis based activities from casual court hire to private coaching and a highly successful tennis development scheme. The centre also has a reputation for hosting major regional, national and international sporting events such as the AEGON Pro Series International Tennis Tournament.

Sunderland's Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre is adjacent to the Sunderland Snowsports Centre, which offers excellent recreational skiing and snowboarding sessions. Priding itself on excellent skiing and snowboarding schools, the Snowsports Centre provides one to one lessons, courses, groups, schools, colleges and university bookings for all abilities. Leading coaches and instructors from around the country staff the school and all are qualified to national or international standard.

The centre is easy to find to the west of Sunderland city centre and can be accessed from the A19 and A1(M) by taking the A690 (Durham Road) following the signs for the city centre. At the McDonalds drive-thru roundabout turn right onto North Moor Lane with Silksworth Sports Complex entrance the first left immediately after the lake on your left hand side. For the entrance to Sunderland's Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre continue to the next left turn (Silksworth Lane) drive straight over two mini roundabouts and then take the next left into the centre entrance.
