Newcastle University is proud to be a partner in the UK School Games North East England 2010.

At Newcastle University, we have a strong tradition of academic and sporting success, and a firm commitment to offering students the opportunity to combine their academic studies with pursuing their chosen sport to a high level.

This commitment is evidenced by a thriving student sports programme, supported by our Athletic Union and backed by excellent coaching staff and sports facilities, which has helped to position Newcastle University among the top ten universities for sport in the UK.

We share the Youth Sports Trust's commitment to nurturing young sporting talent, and see the UK Schools Games as an arena in which the young athletes who will be the sports stars of the future can begin to make their names.

Our involvement in this event is also an opportunity to showcase our University, the city of Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East region to the competitors and spectators, and we look forward to a successful and highly competitive UK Schools Games.
