Sainsbury's 2012 School Games

Not only has Michael secured his place at the Sainsbury's UK School Games this year, but he has also competed in the British Squad in the European Juniors LEN Cup which was held in San Felice Circeo, in Italy. Michael earned his GB selection during the British Championships in March, coming first in the 1500m Freestyle. Michael also attended a week long intensive training camp with the GB squad in France in preparation for a one mile Open Water Elite Great East Swim which is due to be televised on Channel 4 later this year. Michael took Gold in the race despite recently returning from hospital after suffering the first stages of hypothermia.
Michael also competed in the Great London Swim earlier this year. Despite being the youngest in the Elite Section, he finished 13th beating a number of well established international athletes and was just three seconds behind 2008 Beijing Olympics Open Water Silver Medalist, David Davies.
Michael, who attends Coopers Technology College in Kent, is definitely a name to watch at this years Games.
Swimming forms one of the ten sports being competed for at the Sainsbury's UK School Games 2010 and is one of the three sports with disability events.
