Sainsbury's 2012 School Games

There were ten sports this year held across venues in three host cities, Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland. It was the first year that road and criterium cycling featured in the events and it proved to be an exciting addition. Also included in the line up this year were, athletics, badminton, fencing, gymnastics, hockey, judo, swimming, table tennis and volleyball.
The events were action packed, exciting and even tense when it came to the finals. You can re-live all the action from the sports and the opening ceremony right here in our three minute wrap up video.
